Announcements & Updates

Please read the updates and follow the links below for the latest information.

Kia ora team,

We have been experiencing a shortage in staffing numbers since the beginning of this year, and we appreciate most staff have been under pressure.

This is a general reminder regarding sick leave. All staff are entitled to sick days (paid sick leave applies to employees after 6 months of service). If you are unwell, please give us as much notice as possible. It becomes increasingly difficult to cover your shift the shorter the notice, and could put your colleagues in harms way. Text massage is never acceptable when calling in sick.

Who you should call

If you are sick and unable to work you should let the operations team know asap. Contact operations number if it is during office hours (Mon~Fri 09:00-17:00) (Sat 09:00-04:00)(Sun 9:00-14:00)

After hours sick call

Team Leader: If it is after hours then make sure to inform your team leader if you have their contact details.

Office: you can call on office number in after hours and your call will be diverted to one of the operation team members.

Darryl : If you tried office phone after hours and no one attend it and you do not have your team leader contact details. Then you can contact Darryl Directly.

Kia ora team,

We are experiencing increased complaints from clients regarding staff smoking or vaping while on shift.

While some might not consider vaping the same as smoking, our clients do. It is not a good look, our clients do not appreciate it, and they do not allow their staff to do this.

If staff are seen smoking or vaping on a clients site, the client can request their removal. That will end the staff members deployment to that site. We do not want this to happen. Smoking and vaping are to take place in your allocated breaks; if you need to fit an extra one in, it is with the consent of the team leader at a time that works for them.

During any break, staff are not to smoke or vape where the client can see them.

Please remember that we are contractors to our clients. The protections afforded in the Employment Relations Act do not apply to their ability to decide who can be on their site.

Kia ora team,

Regarding COVID-19 vaccination passport scanning.

Each location has its procedure to comply with the government-mandated requirements. Please check in with the manager to ensure we do as they require.
All patrons, including regulars, must have their vaccination passport and id checked, including when they have been in earlier and when they are regulars.
Having unvaccinated patrons on-site is a breach of health and safety guidelines; we are contracted to ensure the safety of the premises, this now includes COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

If you are not comfortable enforcing these requirements, please discuss this with Operation immediately to discuss where we might be able to move you.

Anyone found not complying with the government mandate places the contract with our clients and their employment in jeopardy.

The duty manager has the final say. If they want to let someone in who has not presented their passport, they are allowed to; however, you are to issue an incident report with a description and time of the event.

Tēnā koutou,

We’ve received a complaint from Worksafe New Zealand about one of our staff members not wearing a mask while on shift. Just reminding everyone that it is a requirement for everyone to wear a mask while working, if you cannot wear a mask then notify the office and you’ll have to wear a face shield. In the coming weeks compliance will be ensuring that everyone is wearing a mask during their shift as it is a breach of health and safety.

If you are on a break, you may take your mask off to eat or drink, however it must be away from your position, the public and the front door. Make sure that you’re away from the public and distanced from others.
